CTE Position and Role
Carlos Perez is a Senior Educational Consultant at the Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and institutional partners, he designs and facilitates professional learning experiences that support institutional initiatives, innovative teaching, purposeful integration of technology, and the creation of student-centered learning environments.
Relevant Academic and Professional Experience
Carlos earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston and a Master of Education with a STEM education endorsement from Texas Tech University. Before joining higher education, Carlos taught high school Biology for seven years, where he developed a passion for helping students learn through inquiry-based, technology-enhanced instruction. His classroom experience continues to inform his collaborative approach to supporting faculty across a wide range of disciplines. Carlos has developed institution-wide programming such as faculty learning communities and professional development series that provide practical, research-informed strategies faculty can implement in their courses.
